Delights of the Day

The little things that made me smile today...

1. Crawling after my 14 month old and watching her run (aka: walk fast without falling) and giggle because she knows I'm going to get her.

2. My husband calling in the middle of his 12 hour shift at work. He's usually so busy that he doesn't have time.

3. Being invited to dinner by my in-laws.

4. Wrestling and playing "Where's Emmalee?" with Emmalee and LuSi. Every time I would laugh and LuSi was near I got a gross doggie french kiss. Blech!

5. Getting up this morning before my daughter and having some time to myself.

6. Watching Emmalee smile as she recognized herself in pictures on the laptop.

7. Getting help for our computer problem without having to pay for it. Thanks, Alex and Bro. Wood!

8. Emmalee letting me cuddle her close while she drank her bottle when she didn't feel good. She's usually too busy to let me cuddle her too much anymore.

When I notice the good things of the day, I feel more grateful and fulfilled. All the things that go right, when noticed, seem to outweigh the things that went wrong. I feel better as a wife and mother knowing that I spent lots of time with my daughter today, and that I made my husband laugh and told him that I loved him. Today was simple and it made me smile.
